Bryan Clauson will be making a return to the Indy 500 in 2015 with Jonathan Byrd’s Racing. http://msn.foxsports.com/speed/indycar/indycar-clauson-to-compete-in-2015-indy-500-with-jonathan-byrds-racing/
The 24-year-old Clauson is two-time USAC National Sprint Car champion, two-time USAC National Midget Champion, two-time National Midget Driver of the Year and 2012 Indy 500 starter for Sarah Fisher Racing. The driver from nearby Noblesville, Indiana is also a former ARCA and NASCAR Nationwide Series driver. Clauson was the runner-up to Landon Cassill for 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year honors driving for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates. He scored an ARCA win in 2007 at Gateway International Raceway near St. Louis in 2007 and had four top-five finishes in six starts for Ganassi that season.

“Though we had originally intended to return for the 100th running of the Indy 500 in 2016, which would also have been the 20th anniversary of our track record with Arie Luyendyk, the announcement of our plans was met with such enthusiasm in so many different ways and from so many different directions, we decided that it did not make any sense to wait until 2016 and that we needed to move our program forward by a year,” Mrs. Byrd said.
It’ll be an even more diverse 500 field in 2015, assuming guys like Montoya and Aleshin stick around.

18th May 2014, 16:17 at 4:17 pm #260658SPParticipantHe does have some single seater experience in Formula Renault 1.6 cars, prior to his stock car career.
21st May 2014, 16:57 at 4:57 pm #260916SPParticipantKligerman tested a Formula Ford car recently and said he’s talked to Schmidt and Penske about racing in Indycar: http://instagram.com/p/oOyjoCyF7v/# ; http://msn.foxsports.com/motor/story/parker-kligerman-explores-full-time-indycar-ride-052014

17th August 2014, 17:59 at 5:59 pm #270556SPParticipantSarah Fisher and Ed Carpenter’s teams will join forces for 2015: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/115404
18th August 2014, 9:23 at 9:23 am #270578Craig WoollardParticipantRyan Hunter-Reay will stay with Andretti Autosport (with the DHL livery) until the end of 2017.
19th August 2014, 3:51 at 3:51 am #270647Iestyn DaviesParticipantA good move… I’d love to see a Hunter-Reay, Andretti, Munoz, Karam 4-car line-up at Andretti Autosport. @craig-o
19th August 2014, 3:53 at 3:53 am #270648Iestyn DaviesParticipant@jb001 Does that mean Newgarden to learn off of and pair up with Carpenter/Conway? Their combined scores so far give them 426, a solid ‘best of the rest’ with Kanaan…
19th August 2014, 14:38 at 2:38 pm #270730SPParticipantKaram at Andretti Autosport isn’t happening, he’s under contract to Ganassi. As I understand it, they want to retain Hinchcliffe (negotiations in progress) and possibly add a 5th car, perhaps at the expense of their Indy Lights program.
SFHR wants to retain Newgarden but he hasn’t taken up their offer, so he may be looking elsewhere.
19th August 2014, 19:20 at 7:20 pm #270734Craig WoollardParticipantIt’s incredibly tough to judge Newgarden given his lack of a team mate. I think he would be best staying at CFH for next season. If Carpenter/Conway share again, it certainly wouldn’t be a bad pairing, and Newgarden could learn a lot from them.
19th August 2014, 19:31 at 7:31 pm #270737Iestyn DaviesParticipant@jb001 I’m getting confused again… I’d swap Kimball for Karam and use Kimball’s sponsorship to keep D&R on the grid. Kanaan-Dixon-Briscoe-Karam is a great 4 car line up, and Sage could learn a lot from those three.
Will Pagenaud join the Andretti four car team as a fifth or stay at Schmidt-Peterson?
21st August 2014, 10:07 at 10:07 am #270876SPParticipantGanassi could farm out Karam to another team, no decision’s been made on that.
Pagenaud to Andretti Autosport has been a popular rumour, he would certainly be the most likely candidate for a 5th car.
