How would, in your view, the F1 grid look like if all the drivers lost their seats with their current teams?

If that happened all teams and all drivers would be on the lookout for new drivers and seats. The two things I’m closest to certain about are Vettel to Ferrari and Alonso to Red Bull. After that it’s everybody’s guess.

Actually, let’s try to complete the grid with everyone adding, maximum 3 or 4 additions per post.

    Red Bull Alonso Button
    McLaren
    Ferrari Vettel Rosberg
    Mercedes
    Lotus
    Force India
    Sauber
    Toro Rosso
    Williams
    Caterham
    HRT
    Marussia

After all the drivers lose their seats, can teams re-hire the same ones they had before?

Sorry if I wasn’t clear enough. Basically, every team drops the two drivers and choose someone else. So the whole grid is shaken up.

    Red Bull Alonso Button
    McLaren di Resta Perez
    Ferrari Vettel Rosberg
    Mercedes Hamilton Webber
    Lotus Kovalainen
    Force India
    Sauber

@Enigma Cool thread but why do you want to send the poor Heikki to Lotus? He deserves better :D I just think that ex-Renaults will be quite disappointing next year.

    Lotus Kovalainen Sutil

Button to Caterham? That doesn’t sound very realistic to me.

    How about Massa to Williams?

OK, so if all the teams gave up their drivers, and then had to pick their line ups, but were not able to pick the drivers they had just let go, with Red Bull picking first, then McLaren, then Ferrari etc, I think it would look something like this.

    Red Bull
    Hamilton & Button

    McLaren
    Di Resta & Rosberg

    Ferrari
    Vettel & Schumacher

    Mercedes
    Hulkenberg & Alonso

    Lotus
    Webber & Ricciardo

    Force India
    Kovalainen & Raikkonen

    Sauber
    Vergne & Glock

    Toro Rosso
    Perez & Kobayashi

    Williams
    Massa & Grosjean

    Caterham
    Maldonado & Pic

    HRT
    Trulli & De La Rosa

    Virgin
    No one left

Button to Caterham sounds just about right, Jenson & Martin Whitmarsh can both go together. Then Send Mclaren Back to winning ways.

    Ferrari
    Hamilton & Glock

    McLaren
    Webber & Rosberg

    Red Bull
    Ricciardo & Adrian Sutil

    Mercedes
    Alonso & Raikkonen

    Caterham
Button & Kobayashi (Kobayashi first driver)
