Honda continued to struggle with weight problems with the RA301, produced for the 1968 season.
There was no repeat of the team’s 1967 victory. John Surtees gave the team its best finish of second at Rouen, but his team mate Jo Schlesser was killed in a crash.
Surtees returned to the podium again at Watkins Glen but the team ended its F1 project at the end of the year.
