  1. So many of them were good! Seb, Kev, Fernando, Lewis. Max obviously. I voted for Seb though. Such a good race!

    1. I agree with that!

    2. An unusual poll indeed, 34, 24, 19, 13%, those 4 drivers alone make up 90% of the votes. I went for vettel because it’s probably the last time I will get to vote for him, otherwise verstappen would’ve been the obvious choice.

  2. What Fernando did, with half a car, was stuff of legends.

  3. Went for Alonso, what a drive ! A real shame for his penalty and yet another stellar weekend where he returns home with empty hands due to no fault of his own.

  4. Latifi thumbs up!

  5. I’m not an Alonso fan but how can I not vote for him after that? Also, who woke Vettel up? Some great drives this weekend.

    1. Indeed, such a difference to the 2020 vettel this race.

  6. Has to be Vettel this week. Such a good drive with some truly awesome overtakes. Such a shame about his 17s Pitstop but the overtakes were worth it fro. A viewers perspective. Mentions to ALO, VES, LEC and NOR too.

    1. ….from a….

    2. I went with Vettel too @asanator though I do have to say that his grid position compared to that of Stroll is a point against him; my 2nd choice would have been Alonso.

  7. I struggled to choose as no one necessarily stood out greatly in both QLF & the race, but I ultimately went for VER as both DOTW & DOTD with honorable mentions to VET, MAG, & ALO

  8. Tough one this week. I went with the unique achievement of Alonso recovering to 7th on the road after having a semi-airborne shunt nudging 300kph. I can’t think of any other driver who’s pulled that off!

    1. True, was also impressive.

  9. its about the weekend.. so that should be Verstappen.
But in the race exceptionally work by Alonso and Vettel.
And btw Magnussen did nice too.. one stop wonder.

  10. Verstappen, Alonso and Vettel were all great in the race, with an extra wow factor for the two veterans. But I have the feeling that all of them could have performed a bit better in qualifying. Hamilton was excellent, but I was expecting a tougher defense against Verstappen (not that it would have changed the final result). I ended up voting for Norris who seemed to thoroughly outperform his car and had a great race under the radar. Alonso or Vettel will probably get it and I am very happy about it.

    1. Alonso qualified best of the rest while his teammate couldn’t get out of Q1. What else did you expect him to do, may I ask? IMHO Alonso ticks every box to be dotw.

    2. The Redbull had 13 kph speed vs Mercedes with DRS, as soon as Max was in DRS distance, the battle was over.

      Mercedes top speed 295 kph.
Redbull top speed 320 kph +
      Redbulls strength vs Merceds weakness

  11. One for a ‘not real stats and facts’ article – first time all the active world champions are in the top positions in the driver of the weekend poll?

  12. since it’s driver of the WEEKEND and not just the race it has to be either alonso, verstappen or hamilton. i pick alonso. vettel would be in the running for me had he not been outqualified by 4 tenths by stroll whom many consider to be mediocre. while alonso outqualified ocon by nearly 10 places before his engine penalty

    so alonso

  13. A L O N S O by a mile!!!

Leclerc seems the only one capable of fighting Verstappen one to one. What a superb drive from both of them.

But what Alonso did was impossible, I mean first the save and then going back to the race. And people keep complaining about bumps…

  14. The Redbull had 13 kph speedadvantage vs Mercedes with DRS, as soon as Max was in DRS distance, the battle was over.

Mercedes top speed 295 kph. DRS speed 309 kph.
    Redbull top speed 323 kph
    Redbulls strength vs Merceds weakness.

    1. As Max is the only driver you mentioned, is that a vote for him then (if you have are registered)?

  15. ALO of course, but Max deserves a mention. Would have been an easy, straightforward win without that horrible pitstop. But Max rose up to the challenge and a race that was rather boring came alive

  16. Four world champions delivering champion performances. Pretty crazy how big their combined legacy has become.

  17. Alonso for the injustice. Why is Vettel driver of the weekend… being slower than your teammate gets you dow

  18. Alonso for holding his nerve. Epic.

  19. Who voted for Lance? that has to be a joke or mistake right?
