Very relieved to see that they’ve settled for a predictable time table this time around.

    1. @someone or something Predictable how? No more predictable than with any other event.

Precisely my point. This event’s timetable has occasionally been a terrible mess in recent years. See the timetables for the last three US Grands Prix: 2018, 2019, 2021.
The 2018 event had 4 different start times for its 5 sessions (if you ignore the fact that the race started 10 minutes past the hour).
2019: 5 different start times for 5 sessions.
2021: 5 different start times for 5 sessions!
Times sessions have started in the past 3 editions (British time): 16, 17, 17:30, 18, 19, 19:10, 20, 21, 22. When is F1 on? Absolutely no clue! FP1 is before FP2, FP3 is before qualifying. Beyond that, it was just guesswork.
Compare that to 2022, when there are exactly two starting times to memorise! A session either starts at 20 or at 23, end of story. No need to bookmark this page, or carry a random number generator with you to be able to give a quick answer to the question “When is F1 on?”

  2. Pretty lousy if you’re watching channel 4

    1. @frood19 I sent a formal complaint to C4 last time they did this. It must have been Miami I think. I think they said they were looking into it. Obviously they have done nothing.

I am assuming the race starts at 8.00 p.m. UK time based on these timings? If this is the case, I don’t see any excuse for putting on the highlights programme at 00.30. Surely they could prepare it for an hour before this at least?

      1. I believe that there is a blackout and the highlights cannot be shown until a certain number of hours after the race’s scheduled completion.

        Could of course be wrong.

    2. @frood19 They will rerun race highlights on Monday morning 7:30am, also the same for Mexico as well.

  3. Mostly unchanged from recent seasons.
However, the already late (since 2017) QFL time became even later.

      As an addendum:

      Mostly unchanged from recent seasons.

There is not a single session time that hasn’t changed from recent seasons, no matter how you look at it!
FP1 starts at a different time than either the 2018, 2019, or 2021 edition. The same applies to FP2, FP3, Qualifying, and the race, in other words: to every single session.
No session starts at the same time it ever has in the past 4 years!

I really don’t know what source you’ve based your claim on, but it literally could not be further from the truth.

      1. The race start time is the same as last season, i.e., 14:00 local (likewise 2014, ’15, ’16, & ’17, with 13:00 for ’12, ’13, ’18, & ’19).

I’m starting to wonder if you even read I single word I wrote?

  4. Starting qualifying less than two hours before sunset seems needlessly close at a track with no lights.

    1. @MichaelN
Less than two hours before sunset is indeed needlessly close for any track without lighting infrastructure.

  5. As an « international » website, that would be nice to post GP times in CET for F1TV viewers…

    1. @jeff1s CET time is consecutive to the UK time, so conversion is easy.

      1. @jerejj never said it is. just a consideration for central europeans

        1. @jeff1s Fair enough.

  6. I believe the USA (Eastern) start time is incorrect for the ABC network. It should be 15:00, the same as espn3. This would be 14:00 local time for COTA.

    1. @ykiki Indeed 14:00 local, 15:00 ET.

FP2 is 90 mins long, not 60 mins.
