    1. Ferrari should start focusing on consolidating 6th in WCC. Alpha Tauri closing in these past three races.

    2. Norris leading the mid-championship with Kvyat last.

      1. And an Honorable mention for Hulkenberg!

    3. Lewis to win the championship in Turkey?

      1. Could be. Hamilton can afford to finish second in all the remaining races if he grabs a few fastest laps as well to be guaranteed of the championship, even if Bottas won all of them (which is naturally not going to happen).

    4. After this chaotic race in N2M2F1*, with a hat trick (pole, flap & win) by Alexander Albon, the WDC positions are:
      1st Norris 119 points
      2nd Stroll 107 points
      3rd Albon 106 points
      4th Ricciardo 90 points
      5th Perez 88 points
      6th Gasly 75 points
      7th Sainz 71 points
      8th Leclerc 70 points
      9th Ocon 59 points
      10th Vettel 47 points
      11th Kvyat 36 points
      12th Hülkenberg 12 points
      13th Raïkkönen 12 points
      14th Giovinazzi 8 points
      15th Latifi 6 points
      16th Russell 6 points
      17th Grosjean 4 points
      18th Magnussen 2 points

      And the WCC positions:
1st Red Bull Racing 212 points**
      2nd Racing Point 207 points
      3rd McLaren 190 points
      4th Renault 149 points
      5th Ferrari 117 points
      6th Alpha Tauri 111 points
      7th Alfa Romeo 20 points
      8th Williams 12 points
      9th Haas 6 points

      * F1.5 (F1 without Merc, Ferrari and RBR) used to be a good idea, that’s where all the action was. But it is obsolete this season, as the 2020 Ferrari belongs squarely in the midfield. I would also put Alex Albon there, but not Max Verstappen. So the new thing is N2M2F1 (no Mercs, no Max F1).
**This one is a bit tricky: with Max out, there is only one RBR scoring points, which is unfair, so for the N2M2F1 championship, Albon’s point are doubled.

      1. Are you providing the prizes for these competitions?

        1. I grant the bragging rights ;D

      2. So far, ten drivers have been in the podium in N2M2F1; by WDC order they are:
        Norris: 3 times (1 win, 1 second, 1 third)
        Stroll: 4 times (2 win, 2 second)
        Albon: 4 times (2 win, 1 second, 1 third)
        Ricciardo: 3 times (1 win, 2 second)
        Perez: 5 times (1 second, 4 thirds)
        Gasly: 1 time (1 win)
        Sainz: 3 times (2 seconds, 1 third)
        Leclerc: 2 times (2 wins)
        Ocon: 1 time (1 third)
        Vettel: 1 time (1 third)

        And the flaps have been:
        1 Norris (Austria)
        1 Stroll (Styria)
        3 Albon (G. Britain, 70th Anniversary, Tuscany)
        1 Ricciardo (Belgium)
        2 Sainz (Styria, Italy)
        1 Grosjean (Spain)

        1. Correction: 1 Stroll (Hungary)

        2. Correction to the podiums: Ocon 1 time (1 second); Vettel 1 time (1 second)

        3. More correction to the podiums: Stroll (2 wins, 2 thirds)
The post on podiums and flaps is a mess, this is the corrected version:

    5. “ Norris: 3 times (1 win, 1 second, 1 third)
      Stroll: 4 times (2 win, 2 second)”

This can’t be right is Norris is ahead Stroll

      1. Certainly not. Norris has gathered a lot more points from non-podium finishes than Stroll
He has three fourth positions (Belgium, Italy and Tuscany), one fifth (Hungary), one sixth (70th A.) and one seventh (Spain) having scored in all the races. Stroll has one fourth (Styrya) one sixth (Belgium) and one seventh (GB). So, Norris is indeed ahead of Stroll (with Bernie’s proposed medal system, Stroll would be ahead, though).

        1. It is interesting to see how the medal system would shake up things. Norris v.g. would be demoted from first to fifth.
With the medal system the positions would be (the first eight are easily deduced from the podium positions q.v. above):
          1 Albon (2 win, 1 second)
          2 Stroll (2 win, 2 third)
          3 Leclerc (2 win, 1 fourth)
          4 Ricciardo (1 win, 2 second)
          5 Norris (1 win, 1 second)
          6 Gasly (1 win, 1 fourth)
          7 Sainz (2 seconds, 1 third)
          8 Perez (1 second, 4 thirds)
          9 Ocon (1 second, 1 fourth, 1 fifth)
          10 Vettel (1 second, 1 fourth, 1 seventh)
          11 Hulkenberg (1 fourth)
          12 Kvyat (1 fifth)
          13 Giovinazzi (1 sixth)
          14 Raïkkönnen (1 seventh)
          15 Latifi (1 eight)
          16 Russell (3 ninths)
          17 Magnussen (1 ninth)
          18 Grosjean (3 tenths)

          1. Not so much of a shake-up with the medal system for the WCC but Ferrari climbs fron 5th to 3rd
            1st Red Bull (4 win)
            2nd Racing Point (2 win, 1 second, 6 thirds)
            3rd Ferrari (2 win, 1 second, 2 fourths)
            4th McLaren (1 win, 3 seconds, 1 third)
            5th Renault (1 win, 3 seconds, 1 fourth)
            6th Alpha Tauri (1 win, 1 fourth)
            7th Alfa Romeo (1 sixth)
            8th Williams (1 eight)
            9th Haas (1 ninth)

    6. That points gap is depressing. It isn’t all Hamilton’s doing either. Verstappen had two bad weekends in a row. In Monza Bottas couldn’t convert the empty goal to a win.

Seems like only the first race, where Bottas won and Hamilton struggled, has Hamilton paid for his mistakes.

Not to take away from all the weekends when Hamilton wins. He should be leading, just not with an insurmountable gap

      1. Bottas lost all the points in Silverstone which he could have finished in 2nd place. So the gap between Lewis and Bottas has inflated due to Bottas having 0 point finish.

        1. The complete home goal by the Mercedes team at Monza neutalised that DNF by taking a lot of points of Hamilton. The fact is Bottas has been very poor in race pace and lost out in qualifying by tiny margins that would have meant had he been ahead at the start of the race it would be harder for Hamilton. It’s also important to point out that Bottas always had the option to pit at Silverstone given the issue hes was having but he rolled the dice with his team, it wasn’t like a mechanical DNF whereby he was without fault at all.
