so, can we expect Vettel, Button and Schu to be hiding about half a second, Hamilton almost a full second and fighting for pole amongst themselves with Rosberg and Webber?

I think we can expect the McLarens to be quickest by no more than 0.3, just from how the cars looked at Melbourne, smooth and complaced.
Mercedes went hard at Practice in Melbourne so I suspect that they aren’t holding back as much as RedBull who even last year were never truly dominant in the Practice sessions.
So I would suspect that RedBull and Mercedes will be very close, but for the race Mercedes will drop off due to their claimed “high tre degradation”.
Lotus are an odd one, at Melbourne during the Practice sessions the car did not look quick, the front was stiff and it looked a handfull around the corners but they did surprise me and im sure everyone in qually. But I would have to play it safe and say they will be the fourth team battling against the Williams but have a higher chance of prodding the top three of their spot.
Ferrari? Doesn’t look good. Alonso will drive the nuts off it as he did with the uncompeditive Renault in 2009, the thing to watch is how Massa deteriorates, he will no doubt be replace for next season if not half way through the year if he continues a performance like Melbourne.

I think we will see one merc in first row this weekend..or both of them in the first two rows. Lets see what MS will do now that he has a car capable to challenge the frontrunners.

Ferrari less improved than other teams from friday to saturday. Do they hide some pace or this is their limit?

It must be something to do with the frequency of Crofts voice when he gets excited but it cuts right through my brain like a rusty axe. Seriously irritating.
Webber out qualifies Vettle again – is this a trend?

It’s the race that matters.Webber will have one of his famous quick start routines, and compromise his race completely.Vettel will finish in front of him yet again, and that’s a trend that matters.
