“While their participation helps to underline the UK’s leadership in international motor sport, National Motorsport Week is about much more than Formula One; it’s about people getting out there and getting involved in motor sport for the first time”.

  1. The eight British-based Formula 1 teams will open their doors to the public at the end of the month.

    That’s awfully nice of them.

How about one of you come down to Australia!?

    1. That’s awfully nice of them.

It’s nice too see such cooperation.

      1. I wonder if a certain M Witmarsh may see if he can win a tour of the Milton Keynes factory?

        1. I know a few guys in red that need that tour even more than he does.

  2. Great. I live right next to the Mclaren HQ so I can get my dad to go with me :)

    1. Awww, I envy you so so much…

  3. Winning a comp to get a tour is not the same as open to the public, Mclaren at least have always had comps with partners to get tours especially Vodaphone – there ia always something going on.

    1. But it is good to see the teams starting to cooperate with these things – we need more coordinated events and activities from the teams/sport, this is a nice step in the right direction.

    2. yeah i was looking forward to it being more like a museum scenario. you can just turn up and have a stroll around. entering a competition? no thanks.

    3. Vodafone.

      Pedantic of Sussex.

  4. Aww if only I’d live in the UK. :(

  5. I do live in Britain. Shame I can’t go to any. Student life sucks.

    Open to the public.

By public they mean the lucky sods who win competitions.

    Very public.

    1. Yeah that’s not exactly open to the pubic but i guess it was expected since they wouldn’t be able to work with thousands going up and down the corridors.

  7. Article header is a bit misleading.

  8. I went to the MTC in 2008, its like nothing I’ve seen before

A row cars from Bruce Mclarens first race car, the indy winning gatorade car, marlboro cars used by Lauda, Prost, Senna and Hakkinen, right through to Lewis’ MP4-22.

An absolutely mind blowing experience for those fortunate enough to witness it.

  9. That’s a nice bit of thing.I guess many people will enjoy that.

  10. Winning a competition to enter a factory full of secret goings on…. Does this all seem a little bit like Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory to anyone else?

    Ooom pa loom pa…….

  11. This sounds brilliant!

I stand by my logic when people are saying it’s not ‘open to the public’.. Fine, don’t enter the competitions.. I’ll enter and get the prizes..

I’d love to visit Red Bull or Mercedes, but Williams seem like they’ve got the best deal so far…

  12. Great. I’ve done the MTC and many years ago toured Jordan at Silverstone. Would like to see how Force India have changed that factory since the days of Eddie. I guess lots.

  13. I would enter for the Virgin one but i’m moving that weekend, it’s my mates birthday AND i’m working. Not my day! Nice idea all the same.

  14. I’ll be in UK between 24th and 1st.

    Sweet :)

  15. I’m off to mclaren on the 1st of July, won tickets with vodafone vip :D
