LookingSpiffy thought she’d done well in the Predictions Championship this week and even posted about it on Twitter.

Sure enough, she made the best prediction of the weekend by a single point.

The runner-up place had to be determined by the pole position time tie-breaker and mitchibob won it by just two hundredths of a second over berlinerkindlGP.

LookingSpiffy wins a pair of DVDs from Duke Video and mitchibob wins an official F1 Fanatic mug.

Florida Mike has jumped into an early ten-point lead in the overall standings where already almost 1,500 people are playing.

Sebastian Vettel’s pole position and win were predicted by 60% and 45% of players respectively.

The most popular top five prediction was Vettel-Webber-Hamilton-Button-Alonso, which was picked by 70 players.

Remember there’s prizes to be won in every round, so get your predictions in for this weekend’s race below.

Find out where you are in the championship standings and have a look at the statistics so far here:

You can enter your predictions for all the remaining rounds below and on the Predictions Championship page (under Community > Predictions Championship in the menu).

You can edit a prediction for any race up until the deadline for entries which is the start of third practice at each round.

The prizes

There are prizes to be won in every race plus grand prizes for the overall winners at the end of the season.

Second place prize: An F1 painting of your choice

The second place finisher will win an F1 painting by Rob Ijbema.

You get to choose which F1 driver, present or past, will feature in the painting. Or you can pick one of the other motor racing paintings on Rob’s site Car-a-day.

  1. Wow, five points again! Consistancy is the key Dan, keep at it…

    Congrats to the winners!

    1. Beat you this round then! I bagged a total of 7 points this round (totalling 9 for 2 races, good eh).

      1. I saw your score prior to Keith updating the standings to include Malaysia…what happened with Melbourne?! ;)

        1. I forgot to predict realisticly for Vettel to bag it. And Webber let me down a bit, who could have counted on Petrov, …

I put my money on it being wet.

            HAM, WEB, BUT, SCH, VET

I think I’m just going to pick Vettel to win it until someone else does. I just wish we had useful results from P1 and P2 to aid in guessing.

Or maybe I should get an octopus.

    2. I was hoping to keep up with you Dan after I finished one place ahead of you after Melbourne (which was only because the ‘m’ in ‘Damon’ comes before the ‘n’ in ‘Dan’! :P) But I’m afraid I have a lot of catch-up work to do, as I didn’t end up predicting for Malaysia at all! I believe I can still win…

And well done to LookingSpiffy! I saw your tweet, but I didn’t think it would quite be enough. :)

  2. 892nd. Didn’t predict the 1st race so I’m not too dissapointed with 7 points :)

  3. Seems my prediction didn’t log…damn. Well still I got the order quite wrong anyway so i’m not fussed.

    Congrats to the winners!!!

    1. Did you get a confirmation email when you entered?

      1. Nope, but then again the Melbourne prediction went through first time and I didn’t get an e-mail for that.

It must’ve been my fault, i’ll double check for China.

  4. Damn, I thought the most typical score would be 5 points. But it turns out it was 7 points. Which puts me back (with my 5 in this round) to 254th.

  5. I think my highest score last year was 11, so I have a feeling I may have peaked early.

    Nonetheless, WOO! :D

    1. Congratulations! :D I don’t think I’ve ever scored more than 10! 22 is a crazily good score and, all of a sudden, you’re 9th!

      1. Or, (this sounds good) you’re actually 1st of the commenters I recognise the names of!

      2. I think I had a 14 once last year, that was a great feeling, more luck than anything else though.

      3. There are some giddy heights I’ve reached. I might have a nosebleed soon.

I just hope Keith doesn’t discover my slightly too curved rear wing element that also semi-accurately predicts races. Ahem.

Congrats on the excellent prediction of Heidfeld’s performance, and nameing all 5 finishers!

      1. Oh yeah, I had faith in Das BeardKing last weekend. ;) Cheers!

  6. Ouch, 2 points :(

    3 points. Lovely.

  8. Funny how ‘our’ championship leader has 50 points and a substantial lead, the same as Sebastian Vettel in the F1 table!

  9. I must have clicked the wrong button, or forgot to press submit or been otherwise careless when i selected my choices last week. Whoops…

Not that it made much difference though as id only have a massive 2 more points to add to my total.

At least the quick turnaround to china this weekend will help me quickly get off the bottom. (i hope….)

    1. Did you get a confirmation email?

      1. No i didn’t. I was using the browser on my phone (rather then turning on my pc at 2:45am) and sometimes if i have patchy reception it doesn’t send or recieve data properly, plus i was still half asleep so im assuming my fault rather then yours.

I will check for a confirmation email before china though.

        1. OK. Obviously I don’t want people’s predictions not appearing so do let me know if there’s a problem.

  10. Damn.. looks like my prediction championship is only getting worse. 16 pts.. and tied for rank 119

  11. The last Predictions Championship winner amassed 194 points in 19 races, which gave 10.2 points per race. Only the first 40 players are now within this average, but not me :-( .

  12. Didn’t do as well this time as in Melbourne but still I got 5 points :D

  13. Wahey off to a cracking start! Joint 7th! Just hope I can keep it up :D

  14. As with week 1, just 7 points for me this week, onto 14 in total – tied exactly with my arch rival and nemesis AndrewTanner. Only joking.

  15. Hehe, 6 pts, not bad for my first entry. It’s all quick Nick’s fault :)
BTW, is there somewhere I can check what i entered? i don’t have access to my email at the moment. Also would be interesting to know how other people got their points. Or maybe we like the mistery?

  16. Tied for 1113rd with Mal being my first prediction, hoping for a better weekend in china, i really want a mug…

meh! Don’t want to be the Bubbleboy. :(

  18. Around about 200th! Very happy with that – playing the long game :)

Really enjoy this feature even if i’m useless at it!

Has anyone ever got a perfect weekend score?

  19. Damn I was close, yet nowhere near,

    1.VET 2.HAM 3.BUT 4. ALO 5.WEB : (

  20. I got prematurely really happy when my predictions almost exactly matched the qualifying outcome– I convinently forgot that this was Formula 1 and anything can- and usually will- happen! Still, 119th place at the moment, not bad!

  21. 3 points lovely ;) but 10 overal.

  22. What an improvement! From 1018th to 554th and I just took 7 points. Any way I wonder why my highest score at a round is 7 points. Last year I think I had that score 8 times!

  23. 14 points, not going too badly :)

  24. The Renaults keep getting one place too high, not that I’m complaining =)
Tied in some huge battle for 420, could be worse, could be worse..

  25. First try, I didn’t found my name. I was thinking I was the “Luca Badoer” of this competition, then I exported the file to excel and I found my name hidden in a poor 420th position. 12 points up to now…

  26. 13 points this time – not bad, but I feel a little cheated by the mechanical and electrical gremlins, because if Alonso’s DRS and Webber’s KERS were working at the right times I might have hit the bull’s eye – my prediction was Vettel, Alonso, Button, Webber, Heidfeld.

  27. Darn those Renaults *shakes fist*

  28. Wow. A two digit score.
I don’t recall but I think it’s a first for me (I really should vote with the mind and not the heart…)

    Thank you Felipe!
