  1. I really, really hope this is a good one. I will be pleased as punch if Sauber have a successful season next year.

    1. Well the ‘Independents’ battle should be quite interesting next year between Williams, Sauber and Force India.

That’s assuming that 2010’s top 5 teams stay the same, and I think that is fairly likely.

      1. With the Red Bull rear end hopefully Team Lotus will be in the mix there as well.

    2. I will be too Geoffrey, they have really earned my respect and won me over as a fan for them this past season. I would love to see them take it up a notch next year.

That said, I wouldn’t mind if they gave the new car a more exciting livery.

    3. With Kobayashi and Perez? They wont be quick enough.

  2. I wish them well for the next season. I enjoyed watching them this year and, taking into account the mess they were left with after the end of last season, they managed to impress. It’s teams like this which make F1 what it is.

    1. At the begining of the year and the first 3-4 races especially this was one of the teams I wanted of the grid. Lost count how many times a Sauber car would come flying without frontwing or just cause totally out of control and take out 1 to 3 other cars (Buemi more then once). First 8 races and 2 finishes. Poor result indeed. But later half was fun to watch especially Koba doing overtakes at crazy places and also at expected.

      2. I was in that boat too Edwin. But once the wave of destruction ended, they were a pretty good team to watch. Kob looks to be a solid Japanese driver.

Marussia/Virgin have also said their car will be unveiled in January. It will take place in Moscow, so I imagine that it won’t be happening on a testing day.

    1. Maybe they’ll run studs and test on a frozen lake.

  4. Excellent, i wonder when the rest of the main teams, eg Ferrari, Mclaren and Red Bull will be giving us a definate day of their launches! I am already excited!!!

  5. Hee Hee Hee! This is what off season is all about!! Shame it’s 2 months away though. :(

  6. Personally, I can’t wait to see the new cars, it has to be the best part about the winter off season. It keeps the fans interested when they are itching for the start of the season.

  7. I hope they build a better car then 2010.

  8. Peter Sauber is a lovely human being. He really doesn’t want to be there anymore. He’s tired and he wants to enjoy his retirement. But he’s stuck to it for the good of all. He deserves some kind of award recognising this when he retires.

Tyred & Exhausted. It was a car garage near my house. I just remembered that. :)

Anyway… I think they will be pretty strong next year. James Key is key. But will they be the 5th team? Renault will also be stronger next year, me thinks, after all that input from the fantastic Kubica.

  9. Having been an avid supporter of this team when they were involved with BMW, I’m happy they’ve been able to salvage their program and move forward. They have young, talented drivers, and a huge sponsor with deep pockets. I see no reasons (other than bad luck, poor car design, etc, etc) that these guys can’t improve dramatically over the next few seasons… Good Luck Boys!
