Andy Priaulx’s hopes of extending his World Touring Car Championship lead got a boost today. His closest rivals – and BMW team mates – were penalised after qualifying at the Czech circuit of Brno.

Jorg Muller and Augusto Farfus lost third and sixth places respectively after stewards adjudged they had set their fastest times while a yellow flag was out. They will start seventh and ninth instead.

Championship leader Priaulx starts second behind a fourth BMW driver, Felix Porteiro.
